Hi homemakers, my name is Kyrie with the Transformed Homemakers Society and my mission is to homemakers go from overstimulation and chronic stress to a peaceful and thriving home so that they can serve their families and the Lord.

Over the years I’ve had my own major transformation in my homemaking, going from stressed, rageful, and discontent to relishing in God’s perfect peace, and now I help other homemakers have their own transformation. If you’re interested in working with me then please check out my free workshop.

Today we’re talking about how to feel peace in your homemaking.

So when I talk about peace, it’s not something that I learned from just watching a YouTube video or from reading something online it’s something I’ve actually lived and experience in a spiritual way.

I have experienced God’s perfect peace and that’s what I want for you so in today’s post, I’m going do my best to convey how I was able to experience God’s perfect peace and three key principles for doing that.

Transformed from Drudgery to Peaceful Homemaking

But first, I have to tell you a little bit about where I was before to where I am now… I was constantly stressed, in pain, and in a state of fight, flight and freeze.

The progression of my chronically stressed body started off slowly and increased over the next 4 years of my homemaking journey.

I had constant ailments, was sick all the time, overstimulated from the second I woke up in the morning, and was slowly, but surely, tearing down my home with my own hands as it says in Proverbs.

My body was in so much pain for so many reasons and so was my mind.

Now, I wake up every morning with a clear vision for my family and a passion for the work I do in the home.

I have the energy to tackle the daily duties of my job as well as hobbies and run this business. I love what I do and find so much joy by doing what the Lord has called me to do as a wife and mother.

I am blessed by God’s perfect peace and with my husband, am building a multi-generational family of disciples for Christ.

… so now I have set out to help other homemakers have their own transformations.

3 Key Principles for Peaceful Homemaking

Principle #1

Renew your mind to make positivity your norm. You should have a propensity for positivity versus negativity.

And when you effectively to this, you won’t even have to try, your brain will just automatically think more positively about your lived experiences.

This is truly a gift from the Lord, not having to TRY to think the way you ought to, you just naturally do it.

Principle #2

Get out of the trap of always rushing, hurrying, and worrying. Do you catch yourself talking fast, walking fast, or driving fast and you aren’t even late for anything? You may be experiencing hurry sickness which can result in many physical ailments such as fatigue, headaches and low immune system

There’s actually a term for this and it’s typically associated with people who have a Type A personality and it’s called Hurry Sickness

But more importantly, it prevents you from creating connection with people around you. Rushing in general can put your brain in a frantic state and lead to stress, anger, and being more easily triggered

I heard someone say that “you can either rush with satan or walk with God” – God is methodical and doesn’t rush around frantically and he doesn’t want us to do this either.

Satan, however, is a taskmaster and  wants nothing more than to see us moms rushing around frantically herding their children out the door ignoring opportunities for discipleship and connection.

Use your recognition of this as God telling you to slow down. Because if you’re in a state of rushing, it’s probably not in your best interest to keep going. you should probably just take a beat and slow down.

Principle #3

Peace comes from acting, thinking, and speaking the way that we ought.

Now this can seem like I’m pushing a works-based theology and that is far from what I’m suggesting.

Rather, this is having a keen understanding that God has guidelines for us for a reason – because things tend to go better for us when we fall within those guidelines.

And when we fall out of those guidelines is when things tend to go awry. So, how do we begin thinking, acting and speaking the way we ought to so that we can feel the peace the Lord has for us? Well, it starts with creating a battle plan for what I call Old Destructive Patterns of behavior or ODPs.

If you have a battle plan for thinking, acting or speaking in wrong ways, then you will combat the negative feelings that come from behaving those ways. Ephesians 6:11 says to “Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”

So there you have it. Those are they key principles to experience peace in your homemaking. I’d love to know, out of the three principles that I just listed, which ones stuck with you the most?

Was it that renewing your mind to make positivity your norm, was it to get out of the hurry sickness trap, or was it to create a battle plan for old destructive patterns of behavior? Let me know in the comments below.

Homemaker Homework

So my homemaker homework for you is to pick one of these principles this week and really practice it.

Then, next week, pick another principle and the next week pick another. In my course, the Transformed Homemakers Society I go into so much more detail about each of these principles and walk you through step-by-step how to implement them into your life so that you, too, can experience a transformation in your homemaking journey.

If this is something that you feel that would be a blessing to you I hope that you consider taking my free workshop – it’s my five step framework for overwhelmed and overworked homemakers.
