When Homemaking is Unfulfilling | 4 Steps to Finding Fulfillment in Homemaking
If you’re someone who wants to thrive as a homemaker but you’re feeling unfulfilled in your role, then I have help for you.
Hi homemakers, my name is Kyrie with the Transformed Homemakers Society and my mission is to help homemakers go from overstimulation and chronic stress to a peaceful and thriving home so that they can serve their families and the Lord.
Over the years I’ve had my own major transformation in my homemaking, going from overstimulated, highly sensitive and chronically stressed to cool, calm, collected and unbelievably fulfilled in my role. Now I help other homemakers have their own transformations. If you’re interested in working with me then please check out my free workshop.
Today we’re talking about how to find fulfillment in homemaking.
I’m going to teach you the #1 reason you’re finding unfulfillment in homemaking; what it looks like to be a fulfilled homemaker; and then I’m going to share 4 steps that you can start doing today to find more fulfillment in your role.
Why are you unfulfilled in homemaking?
You know this is your God-given calling and you love your children, your love your husband, and you love the Lord, but you’re struggling to find it all fulfilling.
This is due to the fact that you lack an intentional vision, family culture and haven’t developed your Unique Homemaker Qualities (UHQs) which all are in alignment with how the Lord sees you and your role.
So you’re going through your homemaking days willy nilly without intention… saying yes to things you should say no to and no to things you should be prioritizing all the while, you’re slowly losing yourself in the process and forgot what makes you, you.
And then you go to bed at night feeling unfulfilled and like you could have done a better job that day but you don’t know how or why.
What does fulfillment in homemaking even look like?
So now lets talk about what it looks like to be a fulfilled homemaker who has a vision for her family and herself.
She wakes up every morning with a clear vision for her family and a passion for the work she does in the home.
She has the energy to tackle the daily duties of her job as well as hobbies and things that bring her joy. She loves what she does and finds so much joy by doing what the Lord has called her to do as a wife and mother.
She is blessed by God’s perfect peace and with her husband, they are building a multi-generational family of disciples for Christ.
4 steps to finding fulfillment in your homemaking
So let’s get into the 4 steps for find fulfillment in your homemaking.

Step 1: create an intentional homemaking vision.
As homemakers, we should not just be going through the motions of daily life, We shouldn’t be just grinding through each day. Homemakers need vision. Vision for their family, vision for their work, and vision for their future.
Step 2: design your own family culture.
So instead of just going about each day willy nilly, you want to actually have intention behind the things you do, see, eat and say.
Step 3: develop your Unique Homemaker Qualities (UHQs)
The third step for finding fulfillment in your role as a homemaker is to develop what I call your Unique Homemaker Qualities or UHQs. Sometimes homemakers can feel like they’ve lost themselves in their role as wife, mother, homemaker. This is not what the Lord wants for us.
UHQs are the things that make you, you! This includes appearance as well as personality. Your family will find comfort in knowing what to expect from you and your appearance. This will not only make you true to who you are, but it will be what your children remember about you.
Step 4: renew your mind through Christian brain rewiring
The fourth and final step I’ll get into for how to find fulfillment in your homemaking is to renew your mind through Christian brain rewiring.
This is especially important if you’re dealing with overstimulation and overwhelm.
Perhaps your brain has been wired into thinking negatively about things, or to have inappropriate reactions to certain things.
Or maybe you’re simply in pain and discomfort due to various ailments.
God created our brains plastic, meaning moldable, so we can literally rewire them into better thinking, which in turns, calms our stress response which enables our bodies to heal themselves effectively just as the Lord designed.
